We have become part of the Welcome Directory, providing a clear invitation and opportunity for people leaving prison to join in our Church life and to receive appropriate support from us.
The Directory is a national network of faith communities - from all religions. It can be searched online.
Our Church is very near Horfield Prison and joining the Directory is a natural step for us in supporting people who are leaving the prison.
Unfortunately we cannot provide the housing, training and jobs which are often high among ex-prisoners' needs. But we will be developing our capacity to provide "appropriate support" - by understanding of the assistance and options that are available and providing practical, emotional and spiritual help.
